What’d we say? A 50th Anniversary Collection?? Yes, you read correctly. Nothing less than five CDs spotlighting the illustrious career of one of the true musical greats of our time, Ray Charles. Yes, there have been “hits” collections and box sets devoted to Brother Ray before. But those usually are limited to certain periods in the man’s career.

From his earliest recordings for the Down Beat and Swing Time labels that were strongly influenced by Nat “King” Cole to more recent tracks with The Blues Brothers, and Chaka Khan and Quincy Jones (the 1989 #1 R&B hit “I’ll Be Good To You”), concluding with his 1993 version of Paul Simon’s “Still Crazy After All These Years.” Plus, all the big hits (“What’d I Say,” “Georgia On My Mind,” “Hit The Road Jack,” etc.) in between!
