If you are interested in a career in law enforcement, come spend an afternoon with Louisville Metro Police Department Chief Robert White and his officers!

Chief White began his law enforcement career more than 30 years ago as an officer with the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department. Following several promotions, he rose to his final retirement rank of Inspector/Commander. He then served as the first Director of Public Safety for the District of Columbia Housing Authority. Prior to his appointment as Chief of Police for the Louisville Metro Police Department, Chief White served as Chief of Police for the Greensboro Police Department in North Carolina.

Special Instructions

This item is for a two-hour job shadowing experience that will be followed by lunch and more talk.

Children must be 12 years of age or older to participate. A chaperone is recommended for children between the ages of 12-18.

This job shadowing experience is good for the month of June 2008 and it must be scheduled two weeks in advance.  Please note that the winner will spend half the time with Chief White and then the other half with a LMPD officer.

A certificate will be mailed to the winner.
