"Long Run" is a 12" x 18" etching framed art piece by local artist Kathyrn Moody.  This is an original piece of art.

The etching process involves covering a zinc plate with an acid-resistant ground. An image is scratched into the ground with a sharp tool, exposing the plate surface. The plate is then submerged into a bath of diluted acid and timed for the amount of etch desired. The plate is cleaned and inked, pressing the ink down into the etched lines and wiping off the excess. With a dampened sheet of Arches rag paper atop, the plate is run through an etching press where the pressure pushes the felt blankets and paper down into the inked, etched lines and picks up the ink. The print is then lifted off the plate and hung to dry. It is matted with acid-free mat board.
