Description

This is a rare opportunity to have a mentoring lunch with one of Louisville's greatest business and civic leaders, David Jones, Sr.

In 2005 David Jones, Sr. stepped down as CEO of Humana, a company he co-founded in 1961 with the late Wendell Cherry. From its humble beginnings 40-plus years ago, Humana has become an industry giant, beginning with nursing homes, then transitioning to hospitals and health benefits. Humana’s headquarters, designed by Michael Graves, is arguably downtown Louisville’s most distinctive architectural icon.

Mr. Jones now leads what he calls "the most important civic project" in his lifetime....the City of Parks initiative.  The City of Parks initiative will improve existing parks ….help create a 100-mile trail circling our city …expand Jefferson Memorial Forest … and add more than 3,000 acres of parkland, with at least 3 new parks roughly the size of Cherokee along the first 27 miles.
