The Great Wall gradually grew as various kingdoms connected their walls to protect themselves from northern nomad attackers. The section in this picture taken by John Smagula, Badaling, stands at an elevation of over 3,000 feet and has been greatly renovated. The photograph is a 10"x6.5" color image. Photograph comes with a custom-cut white mat for an 11"x14" frame. Frame not included.

John Smagula was a Yale-China Law Fellow from 2000-2002 at Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou and Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, as a part of the Yale-China Association's Law Fellows Program. The program sends young, Mandarin-speaking U.S.-trained attorneys to China to teach courses on U.S. and international legal practices and standards at Chinese law schools. Yale-China Law Fellows have also helped to pioneer the field of clinical legal education in China.
