Two Tickets for a Night with the SF Symphony

Description
San Francisco is a city that loves music. The dust of the 1906 earthquake had hardly cleared before a group of civic leaders had laid the groundwork for a new orchestra. Five years later, the San Francisco Symphony was born. Since those first concerts in 1911, the SFS has played a defining role in American cultural life. Today, it's defining what the orchestra of the 21st century will be.
This auction item includes two (2) tickets for the evening of Saturday, 1/12/08 at 8:00pm featuring soprano vocalist Deborah Voigt.
This performance will feature "Four Last Songs" by Richard Strauss, "Andromache's Farewell" by Samuel Barber, and Beethoven's "Symphony No.4".
No one wrote works of such heart-stopping beauty as did Richard Strauss, and nowhere is Strauss’s music so beautiful as in his last songs, sung here by one of today’s leading dramatic sopranos, Deborah Voigt. Beethoven’s Fourth is exhilarating and fast-paced.
The evening includes a Free Inside Music talk with composer Oliver Knussen one hour prior to the concert.
