Step Into the Future was produced by Fisher and basic tracks were recorded with Rob Stroup at Portland’s 8 Ball Studio. The project later enjoyed the contribution of several Grammy™ winning benefactors. Engineers Jesus “Chuy” Flores (Ricky Martin) and Dave Way (Fiona Apple, Ziggy Marley, Sheryl Crow) mixed the CD in their LA studios, and mastering engineer Don Tyler (James Blunt, Elliott Smith) provided the final polish.
The overlay of those talents has resulted in a potent union of sheen and meaning. The album’s twelve tracks are imbued with a sonic luster that amplifies Fisher’s themes of social consciousness and love lost without diminishing the organic spirit of his music.
Fisher’s exploration of social change cuts deep on “Step Into The Future” (the album’s single), “3000 Years,” and “See the Day,” as he advocates inner revolution and the questioning of old foundations and self deceptive concepts. Meanwhile on songs like “Atmosphere” and “Shades of Blue,” Fisher delves into affairs of the heart, offering compassionate commentary on the human condition.
