Tim Wakefield, Boston Red Sox pitcher #49, is a loyal supporter of The Home for Little Wanderers, spending time with the kids at Fenway Park and participating in Public Service Announcements on behalf of The Home. Wakefield joined the Sox in 1995 and his longevity and consistency have helped him quietly become the pitcher with the 3rd most wins in Red Sox history. He is currently the longest-serving member of the Boston team. In April 2005, Wakefield agreed to a $4 million, one-year "rolling" contract extension that gives the Red Sox the ability to keep their longest-tenured player for the rest of his career. His option for the 2007 season has been picked up by the Sox.
