Description

Bid on this Unique wonderful collection of items from different indigenous groups across the Brazilian Amazon region.

* A woven straw necklace is from the Wajampi people of Amapa, Northern Brazilian Amazon.

*A dark polished coconut shell three strand necklace was made by Kianpopri, an indigenous craftsman from the Panara Region.

* A basket from the Baniwa people of the Upper Rio Negro, Brazilian Amazon.

* Caxiri Na Cuia CD

Wear your jewelry while you listen to the music of Caxiri Na Cuia. The lively CD is composed by Macuxi and Wapichana musicians in the forro style of Northeastern Brazil. While forro is from the Northeast, it is very popular throughout the Amazon. In this CD, indigenous musicians have taken that style, and used it to talk about their own lives and struggles: to talk about their lands, natural resources, water, and traditions.
