For Art's Sake was founded in 1994 by Debbe Heller-Lewkowicz, an art teacher at P.S. 87 for 12 years. Lesson use demonstrations and art history to define and explore a specific skill. Whether learning to draw or paint, sculpt or print, children will use a wide range of materials such as charcoal, pastels, acrylics, oil, watercolor, clay, and sculpy.

Also teaches high end crafts such as glass painting, beadmaking, stampmaking, papermaking, mosaics, stained glass windows, soap and candlemaking.
