Who ever thought the simple egg could become a versatile work of folk art?  These three egg ornaments handpainted in the Ukranian style by local artist Edith Ellington  can hang in your kitchen or den window, nest in your door wreath,  decorate your holiday tree or bestow a distinctive note to your holiday table centerpiece.  The artist and donor Dr. Ellington is a longtime educator of gifted children and a resident of the Armed Forces Retirement Home on North Capitol Street, our nation's only retirement home exclusively for military retirees and eligible veterans.
