One free month of music instruction (including the enrollment fee) for one child between the ages of 3 and 9 at Children's Music Academy in Ventura. With parents' involvement, students train in singing, rhythm, harmony, reading music (notes) and recognizing musical patterns by ear. They learn through playing keyboards, recorders and guitars and ultimately perform solo and in ensemble. Training in music can provide a unique foundation for a child's mental and physical development. It is shown to improve neural processes, such as the comprehension of abstract concepts crucial to success in mathematics, science and engineering.
