Maestro James Levine chose Mahler’s powerful Symphony No. 8 to inaugurate his tenure as BSO music director. This 20 ½” x 16” framed facsimile of Maestro Levine’s personal copy of the two front pages of the score was produced to commemorate Maestro Levine’s inaugural concerts at Symphony Hall on October 22, 2004, and at Tanglewood on July 8, 2005. The score bears notation in Maestro Levine’s hand, recalling the venues in which he has conducted the work. This beautiful score sheet, signed by Maestro Levine, is a treasure for music lovers and collectors.
