Bio:

Richard Laermer is an expert in marketing and media - so he says – and a former magazine and newspaper journalist.

He is the author of the brand new Punk Marketing: Get off your ass and join the revolution and the writer of Full Frontal PR, trendSpotting, and four other nonfiction collectibles. Laermer is the CEO of RLM pr, an agency that practices the gospel of Punk. He is the "PR Professional" commentator for Marketplace on Public Radio and his Unspun Radio appears nationally. His BadPitchBlog (www.BadRelease.com) is one of the top marketing blogs. His next book, scheduled for late 2007, is 2011, the sequel to 2002's trendSpotting, to be produced by McGraw-Hill.

He has consulted for Fujifilm, Barnes & Noble, Consumer Reports, Time Inc., Discovery Health Channel, plus lots of grateful people. He co-hosted the critically-acclaimed TLC series Taking Care of Business. As a consultant, Richard has spoken for corporate groups and at management conferences, hosting seminars for Virgin Airways, UPS, Ziff Davis, Fast Company, Comcast, National Association of Realtors, IAEM, International Council of Shopping Centers, The 92nd Street Y, and Public Relations Society of America.

Laermer's hobbies include rewriting his bio and judging a book by its cover. He doesn't have a dog since he's always on airplanes.

Mark Simmons is the leading authority on Punk Marketing.

In over an 18-year career on both sides of the Atlantic, he helped make Coca-Cola a household name while at the corporate giant; ran the agency Anti-Corp; and managed the West Coast Crispin Porter & Bogusky. Mark’s passion for ideas shakes the ground and his tattoo says conformity is the enemy of creativity.

He is a consultant and self-proclaimed guru and lives in Santa Monica with his wife and young son.
