The 1st full-length cd of Stromkern on their new label is also their best one! Musically speaking “Light it up” evolves towards refreshing sound-sculptures combining the familiar electronic basis together with pop aspects and the unique way of singing. This album also marks an evolution in the global mixing and production process, which both become more professional than ever before. Musically speaking this album alternates softer pieces (cf. “The debate”, “Sentinel” and “Hindsight”) and heavier, danceable cuts (cf. “Slow cascade”, “Stand up”, which is a familiar one and “Delete”). The mix of electronics and some guitar parts works quite well although I still need to get used to the particular way of singing.
