Here is your chance to enjoy a wonderful Shabbat Dinner with Columbia/Barnard Hillel Board member (and Dean of the Columbia Law School) David Schizer, his wife Meredith and their two young daughters. Dean and Mrs. Schizer will host two adults and their kids (if relevant) at their apartment in Morningside Heights on Friday evening December 14th, 2007.
This is an amazing opportunity to have meaningful conversation with the Dean and his wife on issues ranging from law to Jewish life on campus.
Special Instructions
David Schizer was named the 14th Dean of Columbia Law School in 2004 at 35 years old - making him the youngest in the history of the law school. Dean Schizer recently appeared in the Crain's New York Business article "40 Under Forty," an annual feature that has honored talented young New York businesspeople for the past 17 years. Dean Schizer is a graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School where he served as Executive Editor of the Yale Law Journal. Prior to becoming Dean, David served as Law clerk to Judge Alex Kozinski, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Supreme Court of the United States. He also practiced law in the tax department of Davis Polk & Wardwell. Dean Schizer joined the Columbia faculty in 1998. Currently teaches federal income taxation, the taxation of financial instruments, corporate tax, professional responsibility, and deals.
