Special Instructions
Arthur Frank, a practicing lawyer, is a graduate of Columbia College. He has been photographing various athletic events at Columbia and elsewhere for many years.
His photographs of the Columbia/Barnard Athletic Program were featured in Columbia College Today in 1996, comprised the University’s first Athletic Calendar in 1997, were exhibited in Low Library in 1999 in a show entitled Columbia University Athletics through the Lens of Arthur Frank and his photographs of the entire Columbia Athletic Program were displayed in the Lou Gehrig Lounge from 1999 through 2006.
His monograph Cowboy Up, a book of rodeo photographs, was selected as one of the nine best books of black and white photographs of 2005 by Black and White Magazine and his work has been extensively published, is in a number of major collections and has won numerous awards.
