Description
Golf for four, including carts and lunch, at Lowes Island Golf Club in Potomac Falls, Virginia. Lowes Island is the home of two championship golf courses created by legendary course designers Tom Fazio and Arthur Hills. The golf courses grace 465 rolling acres nestled along the peaceful and scenic Potomac River. The 18-hole Island Course was ranked by Golf Digest magazine as the 10th Best New Private Course in 1994 and the Fifth Best Course in the state of Virginia. The par-72 course stretches along lakes and marshes offering expansive views of the Potomac, then winds through a wooded valley laced with streams. Playing 6,902 yards from the championship tees, the course is enjoyable for both expert and higher handicap golfers.
In 1999, the River Course by Arthur Hills was added to Lowes Island Club as a perfect complement to Tom Fazio’s Island Course. With water coming into play on 10 of its 18 holes – including obstacles like wide lakes – this course combines challenging play with breathtaking Potomac River scenery. This par-72 course stretches 7,006 yards from the championship tees and is a true test of golf skills.
