This wonderful piece is a "painting in stone". It is totally hand built, as opposed to thrown. Total process took 8 weeks, hands on at 8-10 hours at the Mass College of Art.

David Kaufman earned his BFA at the Mass College of Art 50 years after his M.D. degree from Boston University. He likes his pieces to reflect the "hand in making". Many are functional art -- using them fulfills the making of the art.
