The dream theme behind Vikram Chatwal's newest hotel explains the conversation pieces that appear everywhere in it. In the golden-lit lobby, for eample, copper statues of Catherine the Great, Neptune, and a Madonna with Child are surrounded by a variety of more traditional armchairs. Nearby, a spherical aquarium runs from the ceiling, through the glossy black floor and into Subconscious, the hotel's cave-like underground lounge. The hotel has two other lounges: the 1950s French Riviera-inspired Ava, that seems to hovers above the city and has a splendid view of Times Square and the brightly striped lobby-level Dream Lounge.
