Description

The Virginia Fall Race weekend is rich in the tradition of the understated elegance and sportsmanship of steeplechasing. It is one of the Middleburg area's premier sporting and social events on the fall calendar. Drawing crowds in excess of 7,000, this outstanding equestrian event combines the thrills of steeplechase with the genteel, social atmosphere of a day in the countryside.  This Sign-Up event will certainly draw a crowd of NPS families to join the Clarkes, Huntingtons and Mortons for a fun family day at the races.   In addition to your NPS friends, Missy Huntington's brother, Thomas Kirlin, will join the group to share his racing knowledge.  Thomas owns 14 horses and is currently training four horses for this year's steeplechase season.  He is a retired amateur steeplechase jockey and won three point-to-point year-end championships as owner/rider/trainer!  His race horse "I'm Hit Sarge" won the New York Breed Steeplechase Horse of the Year in 2005 and another one of his horses "Te Akau Five (NZ)" took 2nd place as the Virginia Point-to-Point Timber Horse Show in 2006 and is currently training for the $100,000 Virginia Gold Cup in May.

This event will take place on Sunday, October 7, 2007, in Middleburg, Virginia.   Included in this party package:  general parking place for each car, entrance to the private NPS Rail space for a feast of traditional tailgate menu to satisfy all ages, and beverages for adults & children.

Special Instructions

This is a Sign-Up party, $125 per car, which covers entrance fee for four guests per car; Event Date:  Sunday, October 7, 2007.
