Description
This is a "must have" for any ND football video collection. DVD contains the entire CBS broadcast without commercials.
The voice ofLindesy Nelson with commentary by Paul Horning covers the Irish 38-10 vicotory over Texas in 1978 Cotton Bowl -- the final step in the improbable 1977 national championship run.
Joe Montana is at quarterback. Features two touchdowns by Tom Urich, one by Vegas Ferguson and a last minute drive by Rusty Lisch to run up the score in an effort to impress the pollsters.
The Irish won the game on defense. Locking down with perhaps the Irish defensive front ever, the Irish stuffed Heisman trophy winner Earl Campbell and created five turnovers in the first half. Defensive stars were Ross Browner, Willie Fry, Bob Golic, Doug Becker and Ted Burgmeier. Luther Bradley and the top rated Irish secondary had few tackles as the Longhorns could not penetrate the Irish front four.
Featuring seven NFL first round draft choices, this DVD is a throwback to college football at its best in a simpler time.
Broadcast recording is excellent quality.
Bid generously to own a significant recording of Irish football history.
