The magnificence of the tall ship, Dewaruci, with its sails full against the white puffy cumulus clouds, suspended in the deep blue summer sky at the Newport parade of sail in July, 2007. The Dewaruci is an Indonesian Naval training ship. The name Dewaruci is derived from the name of a sea god in Indonesian folklore symbolizing honesty and bravery.

Peter Smith has cherished and honed his photographic skills for over 30 years. An Attleboro resident, his subject matter includes landscapes and places of interest throughout New England, with a special emphasis on the White Mountains of New Hampshire. He also has several prized images of landscapes and villages from St Michaels in the Azores. Recently, his work was exhibited at the Attleboro City Hall, the Attleboro Industrial Museum, and the Backyard Card Gallery in Narragansett, RI. Peter won an awards of Merit in the national juried Small Works show at the Museum and he was an exhibitor in the 8 Artists, 8 Visions show this past July
