Description
Inspired by the turn of the century tonalists, this intimate pastoral landscape is indicative of the era where there were vast meadows and open terrain. Distant Sheep is an atmospheric painting, evocative of natural detail and times past. . Suggestions of small farm animals grazing in the distance evoke the feeling of an era lost. A large cloudy sky looms overhead.
16.75" X 13.75" X 1.25" Mounted Oil on Paper. A sepia toned monochromatic paining where the technique is done in reverse. Paint is applied, then the image is "revealed" by wiping off the paint and leaving behind the shapes and forms the artist was looking to express compositionally.
