Description

Painted in July of 2007 on location on Monhegan Island, ME. Part of a series of paintings completed on a five day trip to the famed island. The tranquility of the ocean is depicted in Gull Rock, Monhegan Island, ME.  You can see the soft, green foam of the gentle surf as it rolls against the darkened, sea-drenched rocks, lit by a touch of mid-day sun.

15" x 18" Oil on Panel. It is framed with a 3" wide gold-metal leaf wood frame.

Jonathan McPhillips is a U.S. Dept. of State "Art In Embassies" artist and has a piece currently hanging in the U.S. ambassador's residence in Vilnius, Lithuania.  Jonathan McPhillips has a BFA from Connecticut College.  He is an award winning artist and a member of the Art League of Rhode Island. Jonathan has exhibited his work extensively in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
