Description

After carving a design into a piece of linoleum and putting the inked design through an etching press to transfer the image onto paper, Anna takes the finished pieces and rips them up.  Here method of reconstructing the pieces into a new work results in the overlapped edges and colors with a sense of mystery and intrigue to it.  Anna states her inspiration for this piece was African art and leather

Anna Comella is a mixed- media artist who uses a "construction/deconstruction"method in her work. She is currently enrolled in the Artist's Diploma program at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston with a studio in the Fort Point Arts Community in Boston. Anna is a member of the Attleboro Arts Museum, the Fort Point Arts Community, and the Monotype Guild of New England. Anna's work has been exhibited throughout New England, New York and Texas.
