Description

Many times, what surrounds an object is what makes that object appealing. In "Vase Half Full" the glow of the wall behind the vase provided the inspiration for me to begin this painting. There is often another force behind us when we seek to bring color and joy into our environment. The jewel like tones of the purple blossoms set against a warm golden pumpkin colored background support the theory of complimentary colors, while the translucent cream colored petals take on the color of their neighbors in this floral vase arrangement.

21" x 25" Pastel in a Gold Wood Frame with White Liner.

Karole Nicholson paintings have appeared in solo and group shows throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  She is a frequent exhibitor at the museum and in the surrounding communities.  Karole often paints landcapes of Little Compton, RI, one of her favorite summer spots.  She is also well known for her luminous still lifes; gorgeous flowers against richly colored backgrounds.
