Description

The image is suggestive of a landscape viewed through a window of some sort. There is a darkness about it, suggesting it may have taken place at some time in the past. The combinations of materials used provide for a variety of textures, surfaces, and subtle color. The background paper is handmade by Twinrocker and is of a deep earthy green tone. There is a piece of brown papyrus adhered at the left edge which has a wood-like texture and appearance. The media used have both matte and glossy finishes. The matte media includes brown walnut ink, blue and white egg tempera paint, charcoal, and white conte. The surfaces of these materials contrast with the sheen of the graphite which was used to create the window-like form which dominates the image.

13" X 13" Collaged Drawing Floated (no window mat) on a warm white archival mat board with U.V. filtering glass in a simple matte black metal frame.
