Description
This simply elegant pattern entitled “Shawl of Many Colors” was designed by Sue Salberg from Angel Hair Yarn Company here in Nashville.
The 100% mercerized pima cotton yarn (which is said to be the finest pima cotton in the world) comes from Schaefer Yarn (www.schaeferyarn.com), a family run business in Interlaken (a village just north of Ithaca in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York) where each and every skein of variegated yarn is still individually hand-painted.
This particular color, which instantly reminds one of royalty with its lovely hues of jewel tone colors, is named “Catherine the Great” and is one of a series entitled “Memorable Women.”
The handwork itself was done by Local Knit Wit, one of Linden Corner’s doting grandmothers.
