Description

The "Construction Alphabet Book" is one of several alphabet books illustrated by Rob Bolster, known primarily for his work in the advertising field. On this pillowcase a crane and front-end loader are preparing to lower the famous "TwoTag" onto a flat bed truck. You can sense the mechanical power and the movement in Bolster's colorful drawing. This is a perfect piece of art to hang in the room of a young child enthralled with trucks and construction machinery.

About the Illustrator: Rob Bolster grew up in Westwood, Mass., but he spent summers in a RI fishing town. There he watched the fishing and lobster boats head out to sea and return with their catches. As an illustrator, Bolster looked back on these experiences to help him illustrate his first children's book, Going Lobstering. As an adult, his interest in flying radio-controlled aircraft helped when he illustrated The Airplane Alphabet Book and The Jet Alphabet Book.

Bolster has worked in illustration for more than 20 years. For most of that time, his work has appeared in newspaper and magazine advertisements for major corporations. He produced most of those illustrations using airbrush and watercolor. However, in recent years Bolster has taught himself how to do his work using a computer. Much of his illustration is now created digitally.
