Unbeknownst to his current students and colleagues, Jim Buckheit spent many hours earlier in his career leading songs, rhythm games, and dances with three-, four-, and five-year olds. Inspired by the Gullah folk traditions of the coastal islands off South Carolina and Georgia, Jim’s “play parties” and singing games will provide an hour of fun entertainment at a children’s party.
