Davidd Batalon received both his B.A. and M.A. in Drawing and Painting at California State University, Fullerton in 1983 and 1986 respectively. He started drawing before he was in kindergarten, although, if circumstances had been different, he might have become an accountant or a musician instead of a painter. His artwork investigated the narrative figure for a while, but it has evolved to the exploration of the nature of the figure, rather than serving a certain narrative. His work has been exhibited in Southern California as well as in New York, and is included in over twenty-five private collections, including that of fellow artist Kim Abeles.
