Sant Khalsa creates mysterious photographs, installations and sculptural work that express her ideas and concerns about the environment. Her artwork examines the nature of place and the complex environmental and societal issues visible in the landscape of the American West. Khalsa has received a number of prestigious awards, fellowships, and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the California Arts Council, the California Council for the Humanities, and the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel. Her artworks are widely published and collected, and have been shown internationally in over 100 solo and group exhibitions. She is represented by the Acuna-Hansen Gallery in Los Angeles. Khalsa is currently the Chair of the Art Department at California State University, San Bernardino.
