Matthew Weidmann grew up in sunny Southern California.A graduate of the art department at California State University, Long Beach, he creates art in his studio in Wilmington, California, where visitors are welcome. He has created an eclectic array of works primarily through the media of printmaking, drawing, painting, and sculpture. The hallmark of his work is the unique visual style he creates, oftentimes by the juxtaposition of disparate elements into an unexpectedly cohesive whole; other times by sheer stark simplicity. He is “consistent in almost nothing except the pressing of personal limits for the creation of new and fresh works that encompass a broader range of elements and understanding.”
