Paul Paiement was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1966. He received his B.F.A. with an emphasis in drawing and painting from Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1992. He received his M.F.A. at the University of Southern California in 1995 . Paiement has lectured extensively both in the United States and Europe and has shown widely over the past ten years in solo and group shows in New York, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Canada, London, Chicago, and numerous times in California. Paiement's work has been featured in several publications including Art in America, Modern Painters, The Los Angeles Times, and Statement. His book, Hybrids 1.0-3.5, recently received a book design award from Communication Arts magazine. He is currently a full-time tenured professor in the Art Department at Cypress College, in Orange County, California, and lives in Long Beach, California.
