Amy Myers
Adiem, 2001
Three-color silkscreen with mylar overlay, ed. 14/65
24 x 24” (frame)
Amy Myers received her B.F.A. from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1995 and her M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1999. She had her first one-person show at the University Art Museum in 1999, which led to a sold-out New York solo exhibition at the Mary Boon Gallery in New York. Influenced by her father’s work as a physicist, Myers is interested in the internal logic of things and the unpredictable nature of the universe. Her artwork is “very much about restraint and limitation,” and she believes that “the genesis of a drawing is usually the unarticulated form of a previous drawing.” Myer’s work is included in many public and private collections including the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and has been published in various art publications, including Art Issues, Art on Paper, and Art & Auction.
