Peter Zokosky was born in 1957 in California. He earned his B.A. from the University of California, Riverside in 1979, and his M.F.A. from Otis Art Institute in 1981. Awards and grants he has received include the Roswell Artist in Residence Grant and the Robert M. MacNamara Foundation Residence Grant. Zokosky was trained as an artist in an era where painting was unfashionable, and therefore is a self-taught painter. One can see in his paintings his investigatory nature, as his most common theme is his curiosity to see how things work. He has been exhibiting since 1979, and his work is included in many public and private collections, such as in the Long Beach Museum of Art and Whoopi Goldberg’s private collection. Zokosky currently lives in Signal Hill, California.
