Jason Reavis is in love with Long Beach, and uses the city’s beauty and history as studies for most of his seascapes and landscapes. Having attended several years in life drawing workshops, Jason also includes portraits and figures, in charcoal, oils and acrylics in his work. Though new to the exhibition of his artwork, Jason recently won a third prize for his painting “Grief Becomes Me,” which was exhibited at the 2nd City Council Gallery in Long Beach, during June of this year. Though mostly self-taught, Jason has been painting since the 1970’s, attended art classes at Flagstaff High School and Northern Arizona University, and was later mentored by Yugoslavian master, Anton Sipos.
