John Scane was born in 1967 in Los Angeles, California, and received his B.F.A. in Drawing and Painting from California State University, Long Beach in 1992. His works are included in over thirty private collections. Scane co-founded the Los-Angeles-based artist group Pharmaka, and has had exhibitions at Pharmaka and the Hammer Museum. He is currently a painting instructor at the Orange County High School for the Arts.
