Trained as a graphic designer, Merrill Morrison's work often reflects that influence. Graphic elements and strong, contrasting colors are generally found in her work. Her interest in fiber and beads began at a young age and continued with weaving, papermaking and ultimately, knotting. Morrison incorporates beading to add luster and texture, allowing for a multitude of surface embellishments, along with the ability to incorporate additional dimensions of layering.
