Description

Learn LIFE-LONG tools to maximize life! The Stress Reduction Program at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View and TWO Santa Cruz hospitals is designed to teach healthy living to people experiencing signs of stress: irritability, muscle tension, feeling overwhelmed, burnout, apathy, restlessness, headaches, anxiety, fatigue, stomach distress, difficulty in concentrating, anxiety, substance abuse, smoking, eating & sleeping disturbances.
The Program complements the medical management of illness, chronic pain and stress-related conditions such as: Anxiety & Panic, Headaches/Migraines, Chronic pain, Sleep disturbances, Cancer, AIDS, Heart disease, High Blood Pressure, Asthma, Gastrointestinal disorders, Arthritis/Fibromyalgia and many other medical conditions.
This series consists of intensive training in mindfulness meditation, gentle movement and group support. The program is designed for people who yearn for more balance in day-to-day life. It is modeled after the mindfulness-based stress-reduction work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, from U.Mass. Medical Center, featured in Bill Moyer's series "Healing and the Mind." Participants learn life-long tools to help maximize life, even in the midst of stress, pain and illness.
