Description
Know Your Baby, Know Yourself is about you and your baby getting the support, healing, information, and skills you need to navigate your way through the internal dynamics between you.
It's about clearing the debris from your heart so that the way is clear, and the strength of the connection with your baby, and to yourself as a parent, is strong. Growing as individuals and as a family will benefit you as a parent, and be a lasting gift to your child, positively influencing the rest of his or her life.
Did the idea of parenthood always sound really sweet... but now that you're in it, you feel like you don't have a clue what to do?
Are you feeling wobbly, and standing on shaky legs as you step into this journey of parenthood?
The first few months, and even years, can sometimes feel so overwhelming and exhausting. Knowing what to do and where to turn can be even more confusing. You can have a guide to walk with you, to find the missing pieces that are keeping you from truly enjoying this time with your baby. In addition to qualified, steady support, having someone trained to work with early traumas and experiences, both for you and your baby, adds the element of real healing, not just intellectually understanding what is going on. Rather than relying on band-aid solutions, when you address the energetic and emotional patterns in you or your baby you can ultimately find your own way with confidence.
With a hand to hold, miracles can happen.
While working at a daycare center, Dylan delved into the realm of what babies know, and how they know it, and found an entire field of study dedicated to educating and learning about how our earliest experience shapes who we are. She joined the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH) in 1991 while working towards her B.A. specializing in prenatal and perinatal (PPN) psychology from The Evergreen State College. She became certified as a Doula, or labor support person, in 1993 and found a role not only as an advocate for parents during labor and delivery, but also for the babies themselves as they transitioned to life outside the womb.
Later, she received her Masters in Clinical Psychology specializing in PPN from The Santa Barbara Graduate Institute, futher supplementing her education of how our earliest experiences shape who we are, and how we relate to the world and each other. While first working as a family services therapist in Seattle, and later in private practice in British Columbia, she has discovered and developed her additional skill as an energetic healer, and is currently exploring energy psychology, a new and extremely elegant form of healing and growth.
