Description

Written by ITP faculty member Mark Brady, this is a story of an unconventional healing journey inspired by Natalie Goldberg's personal directive to..."write about what disturbs you."

The Icing of the Shooter won the Jack London Award for fiction.  It's the story of a hospice psychologist who, when continually confronted with his own impending death through his dying patients, begins to taking increasingly dangerous risks in his personal life until events and circumstances eventually bring things to a dramatic head.

The manuscript is part of the Peninsula Trilogy - a collection of three novels set here on the SF Peninsula, all involving unconventional healing journeys. The other two titles in the trilogy are Psychomanteum and Death School.
