Description
Can you take the heat?! The type of fire dance that Sarah Astarte does is called poi, and is originally from New Zealand. She uses wicking attached to chains that is lit on fire, and spun around to music in an artful and sassy manner. Sarah has been fire dancing for almost two years now, and loves it! Sje would love do it for you, provided that you can take the heat!
Sarah Astarte is a fourth year doctoral student at ITP; her dissertation is on transforming self-image by working with the archetype of the Love Goddess. She is willing to travel up to about 65 miles from Sunnyvale for your performance.
Special Instructions
This dancing must be done outdoors, in a space wide enough without overhanging vegetation or shrubbery. The weather must be clear, without rain or wind.
