Description
Maureen Manley, MA, CMT, offers her signature orthopedic bodywork as a comprehensive treatment for muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, nerves, and connective tissues to relieve pain, and restore normal joint function. It will help you improve your posture, balance, comfort and range of movement.
Precise and extremely effective, orthopedic bodywork speeds recovery from accidents and most painful musculoskeletal conditions, including whiplash, tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, low back pain, TMJ dysfunction, scoliosis, rotator cuff injuries and "frozen shoulders", thoracic outlet syndrome, knee problems, plantar fasciitis, and most other strains and sprains. Symptoms of arthritis can be relieved as well, as joint position and function improves.
Many diverse approaches to therapeutic massage and bodywork, along with movement studies, aikido, dance, somatic therapy, holistic health, fitness training, and stress management are woven together in Maureen's treatment sessions. Structural body mechanics and myofascial release techniques are part of the Hendrickson Method ® Orthopedic Massage. Neuromuscular Coordination Technique is remarkably beneficial for treating dysfunctional movement patterns, and the Egoscue Method incorporates proper movement exercises to promote optimal body alignment. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and The Neurology of Posture address the profound roles of the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system in health and healing. The inherent capacity of the human organism to heal itself is a spectacular mystery.
"My goal is to be a skillful, sensitive assistant to the self-healing process and to educate, encourage, and inspire with compassion and enthusiasm. I have great confidence in the human body's ability to balance and heal, in the mind's capacity to expand, and in the heart's desire to open. If I serve as catalyst to my clients in any one of these openings, I am delighted and fulfilled."
