Description

Cara Schwartz, CMT, owner of Spirit of Health, invites you to feel a sense of empowerment within yourself at the beginning of this unique form of massage. You will regain a sense of harmony, reverence and balance as your inner resources are awakened and a unique healing process begins.

The unique effects of Esalen's intentional touch range widely from individual to individual. For some, it creates a place to experience safe touch. Often old emotions are released.
Esalen massage invites you to return to your own unique nature, take a break from the stress of everyday life and allow your consciousness to create a calmer, more colorful space to enjoy the present moment.
It is not unusual to hear, "That was the most amazing massage I've ever received."

This form of massage is primarily used for full body sessions. It promotes total relaxation, increases circulation and relieves tension. The practitioner's hands begin quietly, with presence, attending to breath, allowing the receiver to drop inward. The long, slow, t'ai chi-like strokes increase awareness, and as the tissues open to the warmth of touch, the contact deepens, nudging bound-up muscles, drawing forth expanded movement. During a massage, the practitioner responds to the signs of relaxation: deepened breath, enhanced circulation, a sigh, perhaps flutters of the eyelids. Each session is unique, tailored by personal requests, comfort level, physical tension and release, the felt sense of intuition.
