This UCLA Extension Dept. of Visual Arts class, taught by artist Linda Jacobson, is designed for those who want to explore the creative process as a source of healing, using the tools of visual expression. In a supportive, nonjudgmental environment, learn techniques such as automatic drawing, guided visualization, meditation, movement and energy exercises, dreamwork, and active imagination to tap into your wellspring and translate this energy into a variety of visual media. Includes illustrated lectures on pertinent artists such as Kahlo, Klee, Rothko, and Cornell, as well as non-Western. Includes weekly assignments and critiques.

2007 Summer Quarter only. Bring pastels (oil or chalk) and 14"x17" white bond drawing pad to the first class.
