Framed Photo: Delta and Dawn in the Sacramento River

Item Number: 203-I-O
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
In May 2007 two humpback whales, a mother and her calf, were spotted in the Sacramento River, apparently lost. Nicknamed Delta and Dawn, the pair eluded many rescue attempts for more than two weeks. Finally they made their way south to San Francisco Bay and slipped out unnoticed under the Golden Gate Bridge to the Pacific.
This photograph, taken at sunset by talented amateur Linda Deavonic, captures the fascination that so many experienced as they watched these magnificent creatures from the river banks.
Photo is 9.5" x 7.5" in a 15 x 12 black wood frame with white matting.
