In 1993, Metropolitan Bakery of Philadelphia opened their bakery with the goal of bringing to Philadelphia the amazing breads they had tasted in Europe. Their bread is still hand shaped and baked using techniques that have been in use for hundreds of years.

Most of the products sold in thier stores are made by small producers like ourselves who are trying to preserve artisinal techniques and traditions in such areas as farming and cheesemaking.
