"Dakota was raised in the mountains from the time she was 5 years old. She went to Bass Lake School and to Yosemite High school. She worked at Yosemite Bank for several years and became operation officer at 21. She had a fatal allergic reaction to an antibiotic at the age of 26. It was a terrible loss to this mountain area as she new every one. She was working at Wide World Travel when she died. She was a very special young woman, and not just because she was our daughter. She would be very happy that we have been able to help a young person every year in her memory."
